There are six key principles of the Pilates method, also known as Contrology: concentration, control, centre (or ‘core’), fluidity, precision and breathing. These principles not only guide the execution of the exercises, but also integrate a philosophy of movement and well-being.

Delving deeper into the principles:

  • Concentration: Mindfulness in every movement, connecting mind and body. 
  • Control: Mastery of the body, avoiding sudden or uncoordinated movements. 
  • Core: Activation of the ‘powerhouse’ (abdominal, lumbar, gluteal and deep pelvic floor muscles), the starting point for all movements. 
  • Fluidity: Smooth, continuous and harmonious movements, avoiding interruptions or isolated movements. 
  • Precision: Performing movements with accuracy and purpose, seeking quality over quantity. 
  • Breathing: Deep and coordinated with movement, optimising oxygenation and bodily efficiency. 


These principles, developed by Joseph Pilates, seek not only to strengthen the body, but also to improve body awareness, coordination and emotional stability, promoting a state of well-being.

3 Private Sessions to Discover the Pilates Method

At our studio, we strongly recommend completing 3 private sessions if you have never practiced Pilates before. These are essential before joining group classes to ensure a safe and informed experience.

Group Classes

Small group sessions with a maximum of 5 people to ensure quality, guided by instructors trained in the original method.
We also work with Gratz equipment—world-renowned for its craftsmanship and effectiveness in transforming your body: improving posture, flexibility, relieving lower back pain, and strengthening your core to enhance overall well-being.

Private Classes

A personalized session tailored to your physical needs, especially if you have any specific conditions.
One of our highly qualified professionals will select the exercises and equipment best suited to you and guide you through the Pilates method with precision and care.
